Elnora Gunter

Elnora Gunter was born in Connecticut, spent her childhood in the hills of West Virginia, and currently resides in south Louisiana. Her love of books began in third grade when she was determined to keep her number one spot on her school’s Top 10 AR List (unfortunately, she was dethroned in fifth grade). Elnora’s delve into writing began with an initial longing to craft stories that she didn't see herself in as a young adult. Throughout her years of being a high school teacher, this evolved into a passion to pen relatable, accessible stories for modern-day teen readers that speak to their experiences and emotions with nuance, hope, and a touch of humor.   Elnora mostly writes contemporary, contemporary romance, and grounded contemporary fantasy/speculative fiction in the young adult space but also dabbles in short fiction and contemporary genres in adult. Regardless of age group or genre, Elnora's stories always come with BIG feelings, love (in all its forms), complex family dynamics, and southern Black characters in all their cornbread, candied yams, and collard greens glory.
